Middle DistanceDay 3 – Sunday 16th April: NZ Middle Distance Championship, The Big Rabbit. The terrain: Intricate sand dunes in an open pine forest. First used for the NZ Secondary Schools Champs 2003 and South Island Champs 2004. Scales/contours: Scales 1:10000 and 1:7500, with 2.5 metre contour intervals. Planner: Wayne Gray Controller: Hans Kunzi Course lengths: M21E and W21E estimated winning time 30 minutes; EWT for other classes based on 60% of single day times. Start times: From 10:30 am. Location: Rabbit Island, Richmond, approximately 25 minutes from Nelson city centre. Courses and classes, long and middle distance events. Courses and classes will be in accordance with NZOF recommendations:
Age classes: Competitors aged 20 or younger are eligible to run in each class up to the end of the calendar year in which they reach the given age. They are entitled to compete in older classes up to and including 21. Competitors aged 21 or older are eligible to run in each class from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the designated age. They are entitled to compete in younger class down to and including 21.
